There are some great examples of people who have developed intimacy with God. Here are 3 of them...

- Moses in Exodus 33:7-11 - The Price of Intimacy
Can you describe the development of each leader’s intimacy with God? How did it happen, what was the result? Where are you in this process?
This is how we might outline what happened in Isaiah's life:
- A Revelation of God
- A Realization of His Holiness
- A Recognition of My Sinfulness
- A Renewal of My Perspective
- A Response in My Life
I think this teaches us that intimacy begins with a recognition of who God is. We must spend time getting to know Him and realize that though He is utterly beyond and above us, He has made Himself known to us so that we can be changed. This change results first in a new understanding of Him, then of myself, then my perspective and finally in my attitudes and actions. Intimacy here is very practical and powerful to effect a change in me and in all my relationships.
Take some time each week to explore how different God is from you and how you should respond as a result of that new perspective.
